Default Brake Fluid Level Circuit High Trouble Code

Recently my dash's Brake Light came on. I scanned my truck with my SC Cortex, and it read out the following two codes:

C1009 Brake Fluid Low
C1008 Brake Fluid Level Circuit High

Of course I checked the brake fluid and it looked good. I don't know what to make of the second code...Could it be causing the first one? I cleared the trouble codes and they came back. I was wondering if anyone else had this experience. Thanks.

I don't know too much about the newer systems but if it was my truck i would start with the fluid level sensor. Maybe some one with a little more system knowledge will chime in.

Was there any resolution to the c1008/c1009 codes? I have the exact same issue on my '07 ram 1500. Poor ground, bad brake level switch, bad tipm? I will start with checking the ground circuit resistance.

It's most likely that the float level sensor is out of range and needs to be replaced.

There are a series of tests to find the solution but it's very time consuming and you need to know what wires and harnesses are what and be able to follow the diagnostic procedured in the service manual.
Easiest to replace the sensor and see if that solves your problem.

Thanks for the reply Dirty Dog. Checked the ground circuit = good, checked the signal circuit (dark green/orange strip) from the brake level sensor connector back to the TIPM = good. Either the brake level sensor or the TIPM, correct? My level sensor is at 10K ohms at full level, is that normal?
I was going to replace the level sensor (whole reservoir) since it's only $55. Probably cheaper than having Dodge diagnose that it is good or bad to start with. Only risk is the reservoir cost and that they would say the TIPM is bad ($850 part). Thoughts?

Can someone please unplug their brake fluid reservoir sensor connector and measure the resistance of the float switch? Takes about 1 min and I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
