Finally got a Super 44 installed
No vids yet. When I get home tonight I will try to get a vid and maybe some pics. The Shop that did it is pretty reputable. I agree it's a bit pricey but they did an excellent job and were recommended by many people.
As far as the resonator goes, not sure if the 4.7 's have them or not. It looks like a small muffler that mounts right at the tail pipe exit. All's it does is keep the resonance down (quieter). I had them remove it and they just spliced it right it. Same with the muffler.
I will say it feels pretty good to finally have something to post about.

I hope you like it. I know I absolutely hated it. I was very disappointed with how quiet it was BUT it droned like no other. At least if it wasn't going to be loud, I didn't want it to drone. The 44 was a flop in my view. I tried the 50 HD and that was quiet but it droned too much considering how quiet it was. And then I tried the flowmaster 40 delta and it was too loud and droned too much. Finally, I'm back with the magnaflow 12588 and it isn't loud by any means, but it makes a nice humming sound and completely goes away on the highway (the most important thing to me).
It does drone. No question about that. I'm used to it though. I had some on my mustang for years. I just like the way it sounds. I do agree on the 50 though. All drone, no sound.
Pics as promised!!!! Resonator Removed.

Blk05Hemi, love the signature picture. I don't know...I thought the super 44 was very quiet, it surpised me. Was relatively quiet and basey but droned like no other. I was expecting the 44 to be as loud as the 40 delta but it wasn't nearly as close. That's why I just said screw it and went back with the old man muffler. I was done messing around with loud mufflers, too many cons in my own view. But I'm glad you're liking it

Not to change topics here but are you planning on doing black rims with your truck? Personally, I love the factory 20" wheels, however, the black rims do look good on a black sport ram. I had the black headlights and tailights going on but decided to go back to stock because the pressure of having to put black rims on was too much and I didn't want to be tempted to spend $1,000 on a nice set of 20s lol.
Not to continue the hi-jacking on my own thread but the Ram looks pretty hot in black. Here in Vegas you don't see too many black trucks. Just a lot of black cars with black rims that look soooo 2005. But any way the drone is tolerable. The Super 40 Delta was advertised with less drone, I almost got it, but the words "drone" and "flowmaster" are like peanut butter and jelly. There is no getting away from it. It is a signature sound and thats what I was going for. Check out the weld job though. Top notch. Using factory hanger locations too.
......... my came with the truck when I bought it, but it does make me wonder.. haha
