anyone ever use a k&n oil filter??
Who is the manufacture of the K&N filter? Feels like it is just a rebrand of another filter. I occasionally will line up the different brands and do a little visual comparison. It surprises me the actual difference between the filters. Some have the appearance of being well made and others are just cheap stampings.
I refuse to pay that much for a filter with a nut on the bottom. I have used Frams for years on all kinds of rides and never not once had any issues. My dads last Dodge Ram (98 5.9) has a little over 250k on it when he sold it and he always used a fram.
I have a K&N filter on mine right now, mostly because O'Reilly's had a sale that was RP oil + KN filter for $40. I have run Frams on all of my previous vehicles (along with my father running Frams on everything he has owned for the last 15 years +) and never had a problem. I will continue to run K&N's if they have them in that package deal at O'Reilly's, if not, i am not too concerned running something else. The nut on the bottom of the K&N does make it easier to change, but so does the bed liner material on the Fram...

yea he says the same thing as I thought, K&N is just another companys filter with a nut welded on the end. I use them because of the RP/filter deal at oreillys. When pep boys runs the RP oil deal they include a RP filter, which is supposed to be really good
