Cool Home Brew CAI question

Hey I know CAI questions are in the FAQ sections but I just would like to know 2 things.
Where can you get the heat shield (box) that the tube goes through to help support it and to shield it off from the engine heat or do you even need one?

Does anyone with a good solid set up have a list of parts needed besides the cone filter of course? I mean like 3 inch or 4 inch pvc pipe, what angle off of your throttle body, and how did you support it without one of the boxes like you get when you buy a KN. I would appreciate any help.

I used 4" PVC. 3" to 4" rubber coupler off the TB to a 90 elbow. 16" straight. another 90. 7" straight. 45 elbow. 4" to 4" coupler to the filter. Mine is stuffed down pretty low behind the headlight. You can obviously change things up to your own taste.
I got mine tied up with zip ties right now, but I dont really like it. I havent figured that part out yet. Ill fab up some type of bracket when i get around to it.

Hey Rocket I see your setup but what did you use to support it? The red strap coming down to the pipe I guess is some sort of strap support? Where did you get that and what is it called.
Thanks Kllrbee for the info also.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I drilled a hole for the IAT sensor and the hose. Siliconed both of them in there. You could also just take that hose off and get one of those little cone filters from autozone or somewhere.
This is the best pic I got right now. Sorry.
