I live in Canada and the gun laws are F****** retarted. Hopefully they get rid of the long gun registry that's being discussed this summer... that's one step in the right direction.... Hopefully next they move onto our restricted weapons and other weapons classified as prohibited and let us use the fun toys without all the paperwork and b/s..... lol.
I dunno maybe because i've only have my gun licences for both restricted and non-restricted, but i do believe you should have to apply to get your restricted-- at least its some control so everyone doesnt have handguns and ar-15's in their cars. and being in the military, i'd rather go skeet shooting and hunting then sit on the ranges in the dirt cold at -35 in the winter playing with my machine guns.
I do believe in most of the gun laws and some im against. but its just a way to control stupid ppl!! lol IMO

Hoss is dead on. it is a Noveske "Flaming Pig" break aka KX3 and the rifle is not select fire. Select fire rifles, by law, can not be manufactured after 1986 for civilian use. To have a full auto you have to purchase a full auto gun (or lower int he case of an AR) and those are BIG $$ $10k+ for a registered FA lower

here is a registered HK53 for $15,500 (with out the $200 for tax stamp)

or here for a AR lower thats FA lower only for $9,000

but you are correct, if you had a select fire, suppressed, SBR it would require 3 tax stamps.

Ill take a guess and say... PPCLI 3rd batallion.. lol.. i guess u could be 1st though.. or a different part of the forces... but I am gonna guess one of those two
I also have my non-rerstricted and restricted, own two handguns 3 rifles and a shotgun and have served in the forces, looking to be back in by mid july actually I believe that, yes, some of the laws are there for our own good.. and cause of the stupid people lol... I'm just pissed that other peoples lack of intelligence causes me not to be able to own certain firearms or puts restrictions on how I use my own property..
Oh, I can also sympathize with shooting the C-9's and C-6's in -35 lol.
Yes, I agree that there should be SOME restrictions... just not as many as there are... I haven't even shot my 2 handguns in like 3 years because of the damn restrictions and cause I didn't think I would still be living where I am by now lol... Didn't want to join a gun club so I could shoot them... you know what.. that's a different story.. lol anyways.. Ya, got some of my points out

Last year ramping up for TF3-09 we were on the ranges at -35 ( wonder how that works for training to fight in a desert? lol) and so far i only have long arms and 2 12gauges. Have no need for hand guns, just got a good deal on the licenses--from an Ex Warrent 3 PPCLI LOL

btw some bases have Rifle clubs and its only like 20 bucks a year, kind of just help out at the ranges with the club and your good to go!

That's good to hear about the bases, and he clubs. I'm hoping to end up in Borden as an EO tech. I put 5 trades down and they were like... yup... ur gonna be an EO tech... lol.. Have my update interview this next week and hopefully I'm back in within a month
Ya, training in the snow for desert conditions doesn't make much sense lol.. I bought the handguns when I was still in manitoba, and the laws where there but no one really cared lol... So I used to take em to the range all the time. Since I moved I haven't though... looking forward to using them again

Man that sounds like it sucks up there lol. I am a member of a private gun club (200 members) and we pay $100 a year to be members but I can go out there whenever I want and shoot whatever guns I want to. Plus we dont have those crappy gun laws. Sorry but I am an NRA life member and I believe every law-abiding house hold should have atleast one loaded handgun for self-defense. I practice with my .45, .357, .25, and .22 all the time. If I had to register all my guns with the government AND have PERMITS for them, haha I would be outta there. I currently have 14 guns ranging from ww2 sniper rifles to shotguns to blackpowder and a few handguns and I currently have 2 registered because I bought them at a store. None of that government coming to take my guns bs.

wow lol we have gun clubs like that also. theres one west of edmonton and all you pay is 80 a year..and you go whenever you want

but i dont think there is a need for a loaded hand gun or any loaded rifle--thats just an accident waiting to happen.... especially if theres kids around.

^^ This is true. I would not recomend leaving them laying around especially with kids around. All my home defense firearms are loaded but in some sort of safe or locked in some way. Everyone living in them home has been trained to use all the firearms in the home and has been taught how to properly lock and unlock them. My handguns are all in digital safes so all I have to do is punch in a code and the door flys open. I am a firm believe that simply training people on the proper use of firearms will prevent many accidents. But there is no substitute for a good old fashion safe.
