some interesting pics i took of the truck today.
so i took the cover off the back of my truck today. it turns out that whoever installed it before i bought it must have screwed up the install. the mounts clamp underneath the bedrails and are adjustable depending on the size of the bed. they had it slid to far forward so thats why it was rubbing on the cab. heres some better pics of the damage and pics of the truck without the cover. enjoy!!
oh and excuse the dirt. i am not gonna really wash it until the pollen slows down. for now its just hose and go!!!! lol
heres where it had worn the paint off all the way down to the metal

heres the other side. not as much paint worn off but you can see the hole really well now.

heres a side shot

and a shot from the rear (wow! I really just said that!!!! lmao)

heres a shot where you can see the spray in liner pretty well.

I feel your pain, when i bought my truck the PO had the same issue. When he installed the topper wrong it rubbed the paint off the back of the cab right below the window on either side, might want to put a lil rattle can on it to keep it from rusting.
You see that sometimes on trucks with rear sliders, they will push them as far forward as possible that way they can have their slider open and wont have a big *** gap between the toppers slider and the trucks. But in your case it just looks like he screwed it up

yeah. im gonna hit the hole with some rust inhibitor and then both sides with some black rattle can. then im gonna fill the hole with some rtv. i am trying to sell the cover and once i do that i am planning on buying a black tool box.
Yea i just sold my tool box, i had to put my ragtop cover back on my truck. Iv been working in a crappy area lately and if people see a open bed full of crap they get sticky hands.
