Just on the t-stat. Just changed mine but I also put some gasket material, thin layer on the housing mating surfaces.

Here's the new one installed. The housing is recessed and the new gasket seats down inside, but still put some gasket maker on there to be safe. Yes, the lower bolt is a major pain if you don't remove the hose from the t-stat housing.

Also, make sure you have the little bleeder pin in on top in the same position.

Changed stat, no freakin drain plug on radiator was a mess cutting hole in lower hose and thank god I had a spare. Dropped the old stat in water and boiled it and didn't even open, hopefully this solves my problem of losing antifreeze from pressurized tank hose. Thanks for the help

The thermostat I installed (180) didn't have a bleed hole nor the orignal I removed. Used an asprin to hold it open.

Why would you cut the hose when you could just un-clamp it and pull it off? And I have never seen a rad without a drain.
