Default Chrome Clad question

I have one simple question that seems like I cant get a confirmed answer for. I just purchased the 20 inch stock 20's (06-08) style. They are the chrome clad, and I was wondering if they can get painted somehow? I really want to black them out my selfs but cant find the prep necessary. Trying to get the truck to be a contender for this summers truck of the month and I really want these done.

The chrome clad part is plastic, so yes, they will scuff easily enough to paint and as OE slready stated...no powdercoat since they are plastic.

look for off road teacher's DIY. FYI if you go off road or live on a gravel road they will not hold up. If she is a pavement queen you should be fine.

Gonna look awesome... If you wanna powdercoat I think the chrome is just covers?
Someone else might chime in to confirm/deny that.

You should do that front bumper at the same time.

Yea I'm doing a bed liner on the whole bottom half of the truck.... Then all black rims, with a level. Roll pan is already installed. The truck is finally coming together. Pics will be coming soon

Not too beat a dead horse but, can't you take those covers off?? Then paint or powder coat the stock rims they are the same spoke as the covers right?

I disagree... I have had mine painted for a year now. I've had my truck in the snow, mud, did 40-50mph down a gravel road, they lasted through a salty winter... I do not have any chips and flakes on any of my wheels.

To the OP...in my opinion if you prep them right, they should last you
