Default Trying to tint my windows

I'm gonna try and tint my windows myself for the first time and I already need some help. It's probaly not 100% necessary but I want to get the whole window and need to know how to get the mirror and trim piece off. It's probaly easy but I can't figure out where to start.

easy take the door pannel off and then they are some screws behind the door pannel.. to take the door pannel you have to take the nut off of the handle which is locked when you lift the handle up i beilve its a 10mm socket. then there are a few screws under the door panel below the pocket. then just lift the door pannel up (slide up) and be careful of the electrical connectors.

Oh ok. Yeah I've had the door pannel off when I changed the speakers, I just never noticed any screws. Thanks

wait, so you're tinting the outside of the window? Just curious why you need to remove the mirror and not just the door panel if you're concerned about coverage on the inside.

Joe is right... I think you may be doing the wrong thing with the tint... the tint is supposed to be applied to the inside of the window, not the outside.

you put the tint on the outside first to get it cut to the right size then you place on the inside...

I know what your saying about taking the mirror off... if you dont, when you cut it on the outside, there will be a strip missing on the inside... got in a heated argument with the guy at the tint shop about this... i can take a pic if confused..

to take off the mirror, i think you just remove the single screw on the inside to remove that panel, then i think you'll see a few bolts.. should be the ones you need to remove

ill take a few pics real quick....

yea the mirror has three bolts, one in each mounting corner. Have to take the nuts off of those, 10mm I think. And to get the door off, do like blackedout said (uses a torx driver)

Take the little plastic piece around the lock out with a flathead. Lift up the doorhandle and you will see a torx screw. Finish that all up and then lift up. The door panel will come off. Then unplug the electrical connection and voila!

Thanks for all the help. Yeah I know to put the tint inside, just needed to use outside for measuring. Was watching youtube vids all last night. I was thinking about doing it with the mirror on but I knew it would bug me everytime I saw it. I 'm planning on doing 20 for the doors and 5 on the back; has anyone gotten in trouble for this yet? In NC I think you get 35 on the doors and anything on the back.
