Default Over the counter spray liner????

Was wondering if anyone ever used that spray in bed liner from the store like the stuff called Herculiner? If it is any good, and if it stays on or comes off easily. Was thinking of using at as a two-tone on the bottom part of my truck. I dont want to put it on and then have it peel off later.

Thanks

My friend rebuilt an old Chevy and they put an OTC spray-in liner in it (may have been rolled, not exactly sure).

Anyway, it looks really, really good. Looks much better than a Rhino lining.

That said, I guess it depends on how you do it, etc.

Yeah your right my bad I ment roll-on type. I think if you get a good sand job done it will stick better.

Thanks

The Durabak brand is roll on or spray and it is really good quality. Nothing is better than the real deal though but that durabak is some great stuff. I just painted a dunebuggy with it and it really does a good job and comes in diferant colors for about 140 bux shipped.

i've heard a lot of them get dull and chalky after awhile... not something you'd want on the outside of your truck. have it done by a pro and it will have a warranty and the lines will be straight...
now if you were just doing the bed, i would have no problem with using the over the counter stuff and doing it myself..

They don't last long. Line-x or rhino would be a better investment.

I spray procoat which is exactly the same thing as linex and i get alot of herculiner peal ups. there is not much you can do with because some places it sticks well and others it bubbles up and then flakes off later on. but then again anything will peal up if its not prepped and cleaned properly before hand.
Herculiner usually dries very thin and thats most likely why it flakes off but with other spray ons you can control how thick it is which in most cases will help hold a better bond to the paint given that it was prepped correctly.

Just about every jeep person does the herc on time or another. If done right it looks good and does well. IT does turns chalky after a few years but people just hit it with some spray paint and it looks new agian. A lot of people have used the spray duplicolor stuff and liked it. I suggest buying a small thing of one you want and testing it out on a scrap piece of metal and see how you like the results.

I've done the Herculiner on another truck and it holds up ok but does get pretty light without their optional (and not sold at my AutoZone) UV topcoat. Doing it again I would get a liner professionally done.

The Herculiner would be fine for other areas like the frame where you want a tough coating.
