this must be a manufacturing issue on these years because my truck is an 05 with 106,000 and the driver's rear door lock quit a couple weeks ago, I am glad though it may just be a wiring issue easy and cheap fix...

Default Broken Wires in rear drivers side boot

I have had this problem for some time. I just decided needed to get actuator. Then, I read the post and checked my 05 ram. That was the exact problem, fixed it and all is great. Thanks so much guys for the post, it saved me a bunch of money wasted

I have the same issue. Found 3 wires broken in the boot. Repaired all but lock still not working. I think the actuator may have fried somehow. Checked power and functionality of lock switch at the actuator connector. My question is, does anyone know the part number for this actuator? 2005 Ram Hemi Quadcab. Thanks in advance.

I and several other people I know had the same problem with the same door.
I checked the wires inside the boot and two were broken.
I ended up repairing the two that were either cracked or severed completely and the door lock has been working ever since.
The weird thing is that the speaker in that door sometimes stops working.
I suspect that since that door gets more use than the passenger rear door, those wires get stressed a bit.

I had the same issue on the same door. Mine ended up being broken wires in the rubber boot that goes from the door to the cab. When I pulled the boot back there were several wires that were deteriorated. Butt spliced the wires and good to go.
