Default exhaust question

truck in the siggy.

So i want to put a new muffler on. I've looked underneath the truck and mine is welded in from the factory. So if I wanted to put a new one on that one would obviously need to be cut out.

I was wondering on peoples opinions of various things. I was thinking of going with a pype's violator or possibly a cherry bomb extreme. I've read the bad reviews on flowmaster so staying away from them.

So compared to just replacing the muffler which will net maybe 1 hp gain lol. Does a catback really get me anything. Like i found a shop that does good work that will charge me roughly 50 bucks to put in the new one. part of me wants to get one of the chrome tips from mopar to make the tip look nice but hell it's right behind the wheel it'll just get bitched up.

I do plan on some day redoing the entire exhaust possibly true duals but from what i've seen on here that doesn't net huge gains but I at least want to do all new piping in stainless with new headers shorties or LT idk with new cats and everything which would probably make a noticable difference in power but I don't want to do that now nor do I have the money for it. Well i do but I don't wanna spend it lol. so any and all opinions welcome

also our exhaust is 3 inch at the muffler or what is it

I have a Magnaflow cat-back system installed. I personally love the sound and there is minimal drone. On their website, they dyno'd a ram with the 5.7 Hemi and it gained just over 12HP. Something to consider.
