the sludge you seen along with small metal "shiny" particles is completely normal for the rear diff. Gray, slimy sludge more than shiny particles, but at any rate....completely normal. it's when you see chunks that you can physically hold you need to worry about.
The shiny particles are wear from the bearings...gray sludge is wear from the gears.

i aint sayin chit ,

but i do need to do this, never done it before , what is the recomended time frames for dif service ??

If I remember correctly every 30k for synthetic and 15k for conventional

i thought it was every 15k but the first time i did mine was at 30k and it was fine....
