Default smoke coming out of interior vents?

Alrite guys, I'm stumped. On my way to work in the pooring rain, I was watching smoke trickle out my heat vents. So I turn it on and a big puff of smoke comes out. And I turn it off.. And then same thing. Doesn't smell like anything. Kind of smells like ssteam.. No sweet smell, ndoesnt smell like something burning. I popped the hood and everything looks normal, all my gauges are also fine. Anyone even know where to begin? Thanks everyone

maybe small leak or condensation in heater core and it is making steam from the hot air going through, that would be my guess.

Turn it on again and hold a piece of toilet paper in front of the vent. If it turns brown/black, smoke. If it gets wet, steam.

Smoke tells you something is about to catch fire. Most likely the fan itself. Steam means you have a leak. Have fun finding that....

If I say its only coming out of the drivers side, does that trigger any ideas?
