Default Newbie question

Greetings Ram fans!

I have an opportunity of purchasing 2004 Dodge Ram quad cab 1500 (43K miles) 4.7 V8 with trailer tow package, Big horn quad cab value group, 5 speed auto tranny, 3.93 axle ratio, anti-spin differential axle, 20 in wheel, power pedal, and tow hooks for 10K.

The previous owner is throwing in front brake job. I took the truck to the mechanic I know and it turned out that the exhaust manifold was warped and it needs to be replaced. This truck is still under powertrain warranty till Nov 2011, so was told that the manifold will be covered under warranty. New manifold for 43K truck???!!! Is this common for this truck?

I also would like to get your opinion on the purchase price. Is this reasonable price? Anything I need to check before making plunge?
Can I tow a reasonable size travel trailer with this truck, say around 27 feet trailer?

Any input will be greatly appreciated!!! Really looking forward to enjoying this truck.

Did I miss where you listed the price?

The 4.7 is small for your towing needs. I wouldn't be concerned about the manifold. Every vehicle has something that goes wrong.

The owner is asking $10K. I didn't put $ sign in price. Thanks.

Yeah the first thing that I seen was 4.7 and 27ft trailer. Uh, you need a bigger motor or better gears.

My bad. I thought you were saying the hooks were good for 10k pounds. lol

It's not a bad price on the truck. But it is underpowered for your needs.
