Default Throttle body cleaning and question?

I just cleaned the TB on my 2004 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7 hemi. It was pretty
simple. One electrical connection to disconnect and 2 bolts (10mm socket)
to remove that plastic cover.

Then four bolts to remove the throttle bottle. (8 mm socket needed)

I bought the truck with 52K and has 88.5K now. Probably 1st time cleaned.

Here's my question. As you can see now that it's clean it doesn't close all
the way flush. It stays open at a slight angle and as you can from this
photo. Is this normal?

yes thats normal. if it closed all the way, the engine would choke at idle...it wouldnt run. some air is necessary to idle.

TB looks 100% better. should notice a big difference. congrats

Did you have to buy a new TB gasket?

Looks very good now, crazy how dirty they can get.

What did you use to clean it?

No new TB gasket should be needed and always use a non-chlorinated brake cleaner to clean it with. An old toothbrush always helps also
