lol yea but i went pass 88 and nothing.

its really hard to tell where is coming from. def passenger side but i dont know if front or back. it starts at about 4500 rpms and stops as soon as i let go of gas or change gear. I wish i could describe it better but its a little hard to tell. i might try to get the sound recorded so you guys can hear it. i took my g/f for a ride and she says its coming from the back.

whining from the back could be ring/pinion, bearings or u-joints.

Whine and Ford go together like the Birds & Bees. Fords are notorious for their power steering pumps to whine considerably. My Exploder whines whether turning the wheel or going stright down the road...don't matter.

Jusjay, for giggles, have you unhooked your HU completely and drove down the road? You could be getting EMF through the speakers from a bad ground source. I'd have to listen to the type of whine to really pinpoint it for ya.

To OP, I wouldn't be surprised if you did have a noisey aftermarket CAI and never noticed it before AND think it's coming from behind the seats. Cars/trucks are the worse types of components to diagnose where a sound is coming from due to all the natural reverbs that are associated with them.
Does your truck whine when you are in nuetral and jam on the gas? Moving or not don't matter.

I would still get underneath your truck and see if there isn't any play in the u-joints. You'll need to grab both your driveshaft and the pinion shaft protruding the rear diff where they bolt together. try and twist the two in opposite directions. ANY movement is a sign of worn u-joints. You should not beable to move them at all.

But, as i already stated...bad pinion bearings are the most succeptible to noise as you have described. that means a complete rear end teardown. Hopefully that's not your case.

If its the same 'whine' as my truck makes then its just your engine. whenever i get to about 4500rpm all the way til i shift it makes an almost supercharger sound.
my buddys 07 does the same thing. his isnt as noticable because of the lack of mods ... i just assumed it was natural of the hemis to whine.
