sad day today :(
I dunno how true it is, but I got it from a friend of mine who works for city/state govt. who told me they are going to have FEDERAL emissions inspections for 2012 and the guidelines will be basically what California goes by. That's gonna suck ***** for everyone, including me with my LTs and cats moved back!!!
I've had a few cars with/without cats. I'd much prefer to have them on. The smell and the teary eyes are not on my fun list for sure. Aint much HP to be had ditching Domestic cats anyways. Not much in them to begin with.
I'd say put the cats back on and make a slip tube so you can slide on/off your cut-out for a piece of straight pipe when it comes time for inspection every year.
yeah we got a buddy who used to live in south Ga, who took a better job in Atlanta. He moved just outside there to Marietta, Ga. a few years ago.
When I'm in Ga, he'll try to make a trip down to fish, hunt or just drink beer and shoot the sh*t for a day.
He's in one of the few counties in Ga where it's mandatory. Has a Cheby that had true duals, a pair of Cherry Bomb glasspacks and NO cats. Din't stay that way very long!!!

And as the quotes go... All motorised contraptions built after 2014 will have too pass strict federal guidelines. Thankfully anything built prior too that date will have the existing emissions laws already in effect. btw this includes motorcycle/lawnmower/scooter/ and yes even snowthrowers. everything that burns fuel period. The panty wearing treehuggers are winning btw imo!!!
So (if I screw something up correct me) you have the manifolds/headers or w/e going to a y-pipe? Your asking if you can put a cat on after the manifold/headers before the y? I would say no if I have this figured out right, that would cause some issues i would think.
edit: this just crossed my mind also, you could gut the cats if it's just a visual inspection and the state idiots would never know the difference till you fired it up lol

I figured it was only a matter of time before that went into effect with Mr. Green in office, I mean Obama. Everything with him is green...lol Both money and renewable energy crap.
