Default Carnage and Cleaned.. Any tips?

Cleaned the truck yesterday with all the sun out!! Finally got the dirt and mud off so I can see the carnage from easter long weekends camping trip.. I took the passengers side out on an embankment taking a really sharp 90 degree turn to come down a trail.. I now realize why people like 4wheeling short wheelbase vehicles!! I just need to get rid of the stupid chrome bumper and get a grey sport, or else build a nice offroad bumper, not sure which one yet..

Now for the carnage, the paint im not worried about, buddy has a body shop and needed to fix up the clear on this door a bit anyways so Ill just get him to repaint it for me, but I wanna keep costs low so I was gonna fix the dent myself, do you guys think I should pound it out as much as I can and then bondo it.. or just buy a new doorskin and weld it on?? Im gonna call a couple wreckers and try and find a new door for a decent price but I havent yet.. Im just trying to get all my marbles in one bag and get an idea where to start..

And of course gotta rep the local 4x4 forum!!

Sorry bout the dent, man. I got a set of 5 inch plunger clamp cups that I bought for installing windshields on Classic Minis that can be also used to pull dents. If you do not have any big creases it looks to me like that can be pulled out, sometimes you can get luckey, only downside is you may get an Oil can effect (May pop right back in) but those doors are fairly thick so I'd try it. any creases can be spooned out. Bit Jealous of your BC sunshine, In Alberta Today, we are in the middle of a snowstorm 25 cm expected and had to send the Guys Home at 2 PM as they have a 50 K drive back to town. Supposed to warm to 18 C by weekend.

u aint gonna pull that out with a plunger clamp. thats a big dent. if you trust yourself doing a door skin i would totaly do that. and you dont weld them you fold them and seal the seems. Only reason i wouldnt suggest you doing your own mud work is because the valley that separates the upper and lower half of the door seems to be dented aswell and can be tough for someone who doesnt do it for a living.

so do drivers that dont know where all their corners are. you drive a long truck, not a mini-cooper. it drives differently. both yours and the OPs issues are 100% driver error

If he was driving on a tight trail and couldnt avoid it wouldnt that be natures fault instead of his own? Leave the dent your the first person ive seen on this forum who actually wheels their truck, think of it as a battle scar.

Thank you, in my case I had the choice of going into a lake or denting the door. I think I made the right choice?

You may disagree Man but those clamps are strong. I recently pulled a larger dent than that out of a tailgate on a Montana and the end result was hardly noticeable and the Guy saved a big Bodyshop Bill.

im not saying the clamps wont hold it, i just dont think its possible to pull it out by hand. that area is small and the dent stretches across the whole panel.
