Default She wont start

So I went out to go to the store and tried to start my truck and nothing. I tried again and nothing and then the "security light" light came on and started blinking. It would only go off when i put the key to on and left it there. I disconnected the battery and reconnected it and still nothing. I had a friend come to try to jump it, and it just went tick-tick-tick-tick. So I think that it is the battery, but im not positive. That red security light just through me out of whack. Any Ideas??

Do you have a multimeter? I'd test to see what the voltage is on the battery. When my battery died thats what it did. The little round red light blinked in the cluster and I couldnt get it to turn over at all. Even tried to jump it but the battery was toast. Replaced the battery and it fired up fine.

he's talking about the keys with the computer chip/transponder in them. I don't think those were an option with the 02s. I'm pretty sure you need a new battery. When the guy came to jump it, how long did you wait between once he started his vehicle and you tried to start yours? When my battery was dieing, I had to wait around 10 minutes before my truck finally started. The next time the battery died, it wasn't coming back to life. I threw in a new 850cca battery and life has been swell since.
