I've got the painted 20s on my 06. They are starting to oxidize pretty bad and I want to paint them or something. Would the process be the same for prepping and painting my painted wheels as with the chrome clad ones???

Dude that clean aluminum look caught my eye that is a good fall back in case the paint gets ruined. btw i'm in ct. I have the blackened chrome clads they are the cat's a$$ imo.
Painted wheels do not oxidise they rust from the inside out is my guess. Take 'em off and have them sand lblested then powder coated, I'm guessing they are steel wheels right? Good luck with those.

yea you need to get them blasted and powdercoated. The rims get so much acid and salt on them, if there is any sort of pore they will take it in and start to bubble

And my chrome clad 20s had the spider viens all over them, thats why I did mine

I thought that the stock argent gray painted wheels were aluminum????

They have painted spokes with the machined lip and end of spokes. Doesn't look like rust to me. Was thinking about painting them black or dark gray.

hey if nthey are aluminum good sand blasted aluminum is a good look too. ! But it depends on the wheel at this point. I would deffinatly paint 'em black and go satin or high gloss. thats What I think.

No, there are so many people wanting these chrome ones that I got a trade plus money for them. I ended up making money on the deal. I see them for a grand all the time on craigslist.

If I were to want a coated set and mine were chrome, I would try and do what I did. Trade for some alums+cash
