The box would be easier to just buy, most guys run the fox box and it's pretty well reviewed and recommended.

As for the tail lights, they will fit just fine but there is a wiring difference that has to be corrected for them to work right. Hope this info helped.

there are some people that made some custom ones. if you want to give it shot you can. kx250frider617 has a post of how he did his step by step if you can find it.

what exactly is the wiring issue with the lights?
i mean is it something major/pain in the a$$ or just a minor fix?

Last I knew you just had to swap a couple wires around and boom your done, but I could be wrong.

Sub Box: I would lay fiberglass and simply mount a top piece of MDF, cut your holes and youre done. port it if your subs recomend it. someone else may chime with better details, but i would deffinatly lay fiberglass in the buckets.

Tail Lights: The actual light fits, only difference is the wiring harness. the 03-06s use 1 harness that plugs into a board, the 07-09s use 2 harnesses that plug into a bulb, which then twists into the housing. simply cut off the old harness, go to the dealer and buy the new harnesses, and splice in your wires accordingly. to find what wire does what, use a volt meter.
