rim width
Getting new wheels and tires and have a quick ques. The wheels im looking at come in either 8 wide with 18 offset or 9 wide with 0 offset.Im looking at toyo mt's 35x12.5x17 which rim do i need or will either one do. Got leveling kit and could get spacers if needed. Thanks
Not sure this is the right answer but info anyways:
I got 8 inch Rims and checked with Tire Shop and was told I can mount that size in the Pro-Comps with my leveling. 9 inch rims would be better as some makes suggest that as a minimum (i think) though (IMO) not sure about offset size as I never measured factory. i do know my polished rims stick outward 28mm more than stock steel rim. I am guessing if 0 offset means you are same as stock rim but an inch wider overall in that 9 inch you may run a small chance of that 35 tire hitting the steering knuckle near the top. The shop I use does test fits for the customer with tire and rim combos before actual purchase. I also know a factory 17 steel rim will clear the knuckes with a 305/65/17 but that is around 32-33.
Leveling kit is a bonus but hope you don't got 3:55's Newf as it will be a real dogs **** (3.92 minimum).
Good Luck man.

You should really have the 9" width for a 12.5" tires, a 0 offset is ok, as long as the backspacing is around 4.25 - 4.5"... The 0 offset is actually better for clearance if the 8" offset is +18mm. You really want a 0 to negative offset...
