Default 04 dodge ram 1500 temperature question.

a few weeks ago i noticed my temp. gauge move past halfway while pulling my utv and then go back to normal and back and forth.... so i changed the thermostat and replaced the antifreeze, so now the temperature gauage still does the same thing but seems to move a little more frequent now even with out a load, doesnt run hot just a little bit past half way... not sure what the problem is maybe air in the lines are is there a sensor?

any help would be appreciated!!!

Could be as simple as a bad sending unit, or you are circulating enough coolant intermittently. I'd keep an eye on it, but the halfway mark is not dangerous. Check your radiator for "cool" spots, could be you're developing a plug, pressure builds, breaks through, and the cycle repeats.

i was going to ask if you had a 4.7 or 5.7 because a lot of guys have heating issues with the 4.7s and it usually ends up being head gaskets or warped/cracked heads. You had better keep an eye on it and hope that it doesnt affect you also.

There are lots of threads on 4.7s with those issues.
