Talking Aries Bull Bar and New Lights.

Will I had this idea to add some black nerf bars and a matching bull bar to my 02 Black Sport shorty and searched the net and came up with this combination.

Got a deal on a set of Westin black 3" tubular side steps, and took a chance on the black Aries Bull Bar with the updated stainless skid plate.

For lights I wanted the Piaa 520 Fogs, but pretty steep for my budget and settled for Hella 500 FF "Fogs", ordered from StreetSide Auto, $70.40 delivered. The Hella Fogs have clear lens and look like the 500FF driving light but have differnt bulbs.

I need to wire the Hellas yet and still plan to add some driving light behind the grill soon.

I saw the Gen 3 body style at the auto show new in 2002 and was impressed and later that year I found a black sport regular cab shorty, fully loaded, one of the last 5.9 gas 360. 20" wheels were all the rage and factory 20"s on the ram were huge at first sight! I remember when I had a job too, LOL...

Mine is one of the last 5.9's and they made me a killer deal on it.

I've added Volant CAI, Alteeza Tail lights, Leer Canopy, BedRug, Dash Mat, Easy-Down tail gate, Mopar mud guards, rear wheel well inserts, 6 disc changer, 275/65/20's, and of course radar and navigation. Plus the current mods, it's 8 years old with 32K mi.

Very nice looking SC buddy. Now from the last picture I can say the next thing to look into is a level. You've got the same huge front end rake mine had and I couldn't stand it!!! I'm surprised none of the black truck guys on here haven't had a compliment. lol I do like the look of the black truck and yours is very clean.

Cool

Thanks for the compliments!

So how does a level work? Does it pump the frontend up or effect the ride? I tow a utility trailer and levels it right out. Will it still be level with a level kit? Thanks...

NO you would be un level then, if you mainly use it for towing, and it rides the way you like it NOW then don't mess with it!! I think it looks good the way it is!

Where did you end up getting that bull bar? That looks really nice! And how much did it run you? I really want a bull bar pretty bad, just looking for a nice one that isnt as expensive as the dam westin is. I was kind of scared the aries wouldnt look as nice, but it does!

If you wanted to level it, it would make the front of the truck level with the back using either a spacer or longer springs. But if you haul a trailer, you have two choices. Leave it the way it is or level the front and put air bags on the back. Still, you have a good looking truck welcome!

I purchased it through SV Customs, on sale now, $186.99 for the black one. Chrome is $243.99 sale price.
