Default 06 Wiring issues

Hi guys, been lurking here for a while off and on, lots of great information being passed around. I am posting with a problem of my own today, hoping you guys could help me with. My 06 has the factory towing package. Recently i have lost my right blinker on my trailers. I have the blinker on my truck, but with a test light I do not have power to my factory 7 prong, or factory 4 prong plugs. Do the trailer lights have their own seperate harness some where? I checked the green wires in the harness above the rear axle and didn't have power there, but I am thinking I may be doing something wrong because that should be powering the blinker on my truck too shouldn't it? Any Ideas where I should start looking, assuming it is in a pigtail, or some other connection point? Any other information I can give that would help you to help me I will be glad to reply with. Thanks in advance for any help.

Look at the wiring harness at the rear of truck. If the turn signals work on the truck and do not work at the plug follow the wires back. I have seen where a bad bulb on the front can cause all kind of problems. Make sure you have a good ground for your test light.

I'm not real sure about the 06, but on my 02 there are separate fuses for each side (left/right lights, left/right blinker) for the trailer plug. Take a look in the fuse box under the hood.

This is pretty simple electrical troubleshooting. You know your trailer lights dont work, and they are powered by a split off the trucks rear lights. If your rear lights work, the problem is a bad connection or short somewhere between the trailer wiring harness and the trailer lights. If your rear truck lights dont work, follow the wires up until you find where they do work. Could be a blown fuse, could be a short, could be a bad ground somewhere inline.

Thanks for the replies guys, I checked the fuse box under the hood and can't find any of those fuses. My #6 is a 10 amp OCM/VISTfan/Wastegate fuse. I do have the 2500 with the Cummins if that makes any difference. I checked #19 30 amp Trailer Tow it looked good, and when I pulled it out my left trailer blinker still worked. I looked through the box and also the owners manual and can't find any spots that say anything about left and right stop/turn. It does make perfect sense that that would be it, but I can't find it anywhere. Is there a supplemental fuse panel I am not finding on a diesel? Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it.

you may find better luck in the CTD section. The wiring is all completely different than us lowly gassers lol
