Where to start?
I have an 06 ram hemi. I currently have exhaust and a cold air intake on it. I am wanting to do a bit more to it to get some power. I was planning on getting a throttle body spacer but read on here that they are pointless. I have roughly 50000 miles on it so I know I need to do a general tune up on it. But where should I start with everything. Is there any type of plugs that I should use or wires. I was reading about the actual throttle body. And thought about that but I didnt know if I should jump right into that or if I should start somewhere else. So if you all have any thoughts or opinions on how I can get a little more boost please let me know.
Thanks
Aaron

i am at 52k miles on my 06 now, besides the basic oil change and rotating the tires and wat now.... i am going to be doing a tune up 60k miles... dant ask me why its when i did all my other vehicles so u can say its like a tradition, i will be changing plugs, cleaning tb, clean K&N filter, oil change and i will put Lucas oil stabilizer in it. and the brakes looks like they need to be changed by 60k, relaignment which i had 3k ago after installing level, im sure i am missin a few things, but as for changing the tranny fluids and the fluids in the hog heads and all that, i wait till about 80-100k miles
The single best thing you can do is a tune-up and keep fresh lubrication in it, everywhere.
After that, a tuner would be your best bang for the buck and work hand-in-hand with your CAI and exhaust. After your full tune-up, start there...

So what is the best tuner? Or what is the best gains out of them. Right now over in the classifieds is this post. Anyone use one of these?
Superchips 3815 Flashpaq Tuner 04-06 Dodge Ram
I have a well taken care of 3815 Superchips Flashpaq tuner for a 2004 - 2006 Dodge Ram gas truck with the 5.7L Hemi. Everything works as it should. I no longer have the truck so I have no need for this tuner anymore. Comes with everything you will need to set it up and go. Hand held tuner, directions, original box and computer usb cable. It was used on only one 2006 Dodge Ram. I purchased the tuner brand new. I returned the truck back too the stock tune, so it should work fine on the next truck.
You can email me any questions thekgkid@netzero.com
I will do $190 shipped or local pick up would be great - I have paypal, but have never used it to receive funds before. See add below for pics

Jump on it, just verify he unlocked it when he got rid of his truck and you'll have no problem.
I recently upgraded to the 3865 tuner and sold my 3815 in the classified section on here for $200 shipped and it sold in under 20 mins...

What are your plans for your truck? Are you just going to do the basic bolt ons (exhaust, cai, tuner, TB, gears, Short-Mid Headers) or are you going to get into doing some heavy modding (LT headers, mid-agressive Cam, heads, etc.)?
If you are planning on just doing the lite modding with just the basic bolt on mods you'll be fine with the sc3865.....
But....
If you are going to be getting into the heavy modding then dont go with the SC3865, it is a great tuner but it cant give you the support for the other mods as far as tuning it goes, for that you would want to go with a Diablo Predator (DSP) as it will support everything you have now and everything you plan on adding in the future.

Well currently I have exhaust and a cold air intake on it. Im happy with the intake. The exhaust I might change. I have no clue as to what it is. To be honest I have never even tried to look. I do know its not a true duel though. Im not planning on doing the heavy modding. I never even thought of doing headers. But I guess if I change the exhaust I might as well do headers at the same time. Im thinking about putting a leveling kit on it with a set of 34's. Thats the main reason why I thought about getting a little more performance out of it. I just dont know which tuner would be best for me.
Thanks for the info.

I have long tube headers and the SC has been just fine. Plus, in MY particular year, DSP doesn't support my transmission, biggest reason I've not installed my cam yet. IMO the tranny tunes and line firmness alone is worth the cost of a tuner.
Unless you plan to do a cam, heads or any other MAJOR engine mods, you'll never need a custom tune and spending high $ for one would be a waste of money.
A "canned tune" tuner, be it SC or DSP (who DOES support your year for the tranny) would be a fantastic mod...

Ok I e-mailed the guy in the classifieds about the tuner. I asked him if it was unlocked this was his response.
I am going to have to check on this lock/unlock thing cause now I am not sure. I know the screen comes up and states returned truck back to stock tune, and I thought that was all that was needed to use it on another truck. but nothing that states locked or unlocked,Do you know how to check and make sure this thing is unlocked
How would he or I know if this is ready to go or not.
Thanks
