I heard when you switch to 4.56 gears that you get less mpg. Is this true?

I have 4.56's and when I had the stock 17's I turned 2200ish@60mph.....now i have 275/55/20's and turn right at 2000rpm. My gas mileage did not suffer in either instance. *edit* dont know why its trying to make a link

I had no problem pulling my four wheelers with my old 37's and stock 3:92's, but what a difference it was to go to 4:56. So it's not that it won't work well, just not Fricking Sweet.

To the OP, here is a direct comparison.
With the 4:10 gear and 285/50-20 tires 30.5" tall, The truck turns 1825rpm at 60 mph.
