If you don't know what you're doing you can fark things up pretty bad.

Nope, this is one that even a run of the mill mechanic usually won't even attempt. This is one for a seasoned axle and diff guy...

New Guy Here. I can tell you right now that even the newest installers can get lucky on their first try. Couple years back I had a 95 F150 extended Cab. Good ole 8 ft bed with front locking hubs. haha I tore up my rear diff playin in the mud, did some research, bought an Auburn LSD and attempted install on my own with no more instructions than what came with it. Naturally as a novice, I ignored the tools they recommended and did it by look and feel. I lucked out though and it was perfect. Then of course, a year later, I traded it in for my current Ram. Lesson learned? I certainly will not be attempting it again. Just like I dont mess with brakes anymore either. just my 2 cents.
