I have the chrome bug deflector on my truck and am wanting to go black. I found a black one cheap and brand new but it was for a 2006 model. My question is if this will fit properly or not. Thanks.

When I was looking for a replacement, I could only find ones for 02-05 rams and 06-09 rams. Not sure what the difference is though. If its local I'd say drive by and try it out. Whats the mfg and part number for the deflector?

 

I thought the hoods were the same as well, we know the light assembly was changed in 06 and the sport style bumper for that matter

 

yes it will fit.. The only difference between the 02-05 and 06-08's is the grille and headlights..The hood is exactly the same

 

Smknram, ib would paint it but this guy only wants 20 bucks for an oem deflector new. If it will fit I'm gonna just get it

Looks like the difference has to do with the Rams head badge. It's on the top of the grille with the 02-05s and in the center for the 06-09s. So when you buy an 02-05 deflector, it includes a ram badge whereas the 06-09s have no badge on the deflector. Guess it would look goofy to have two ram heads if you had an 06-09 truck with an 02-05 deflector. Will it fit? I can't say for certainty yes or no. The deflectors attach to the grill and not the hood so theres maybe different mount locations between the grills? Beats me. Here's another link for bug deflectors and what years they will fit.

after looking at this some more, these have a notch in them where they mount that goes around the center pc of the grille. and since those are different that mounting I would be willing to bet is different. pluse the rams head is an issue.
