Default 2002 Dodge Ram stalling at random times

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram Quad 4x4. I have only had it a few months and this has happened about 10 times. Everything will be fine then once every 2 weeks or so when I make a complete stop then go to accelerate the truck stalls and motor just revs up and will barely go forward. It will eventually go like nothing is wrong but is it for sure a transmission problem?

Is it the 5.9 motor or the 4.7? Each one has a different tranny, just more info for us to go off of.

the 46re has bands I believe, every once in a while they need tightened. At least that's what I was told.

did you check the fluid while it was running and while the truck has been stopped for awhile? If the level is the same then chances are the pumpshaft teeth may be slipping and not allowing the trans to suck up oil at certain times. You cant really check the shaft though without disassembling the part of the trans. Your torque converter could be acting up too if the spindles are wearing down.

If this is the 5.9 then it could be a completely different problem than the tranny, my old 5.2 did the same thing and it had a manual transmission, and my buddies 5.2, and a few other guys with 5.9s that I have heard of had the same problem. You press the gas and it chugs for a few seconds then takes off after that like normal? I never found the problem, but my guess is that it had to do with the plenum gasket. Hope this helps.
