Help rim backspacing/offset question **PROFESSIONAL ONLY**
Hey guys I need some help and Im honestly not sure where to start with these confusing rim offset questions. 1st let me say that I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab w/stock 20" wheels and a 2.5" top gunz leveling kit. I am currently looking at the 20" XD Spy rims but am not sure of the offset or backspacing that I should order. I already ordered my nitto trail grapplers 295/65/20 which are basically 35x12.5x20. Anyone have any idea of the backspacing or offset that I require to not rub the control arms, but at the same time dont stick out of my wheel wells to require fender flares? *****Please dont guess, Id really rather not have a reply saying that your girlfriends step-father's best friend runs rim XX and I SHOULD be OK. Only Professional or 1st hand advice (that actually own aftermarket rims) PLEASE. Thanks Lee

Welcome to DF. Look HERE
Stock tire size of 275/60/20 is only 10.8" wide on a 5.75" BS 20x9 rim and it sits flush with the fender. ANY tire you put on there bigger will sick out not to mention you'll need to go out not to rub as well. Most guys do 4.5"BS but that will put you out 1.5".
THIS will show you Backspacing and offset (they go hand-in-hand) You may be able to get away with 5" BS, but i think you may have slight rubbing???? 4.5" will have no rub and will require flares.

Im looking at the XD 797 Spy 20" x 9" -12 4.53 5x139.7 With the 295/65/20 trail grapplers. Do you see any rubbing issues with this set up? Appx how far do you think these will stick out? Thanks again bro.

Professionals only? what a noob... you know this site is only a bunch of amateurs that spread their knowledge because of a love for turnin wrenches, right? i dont think there are any professionals on here.

If you really want "professional" advice, you need to ask a professional. Your best bet would be the folks where you get your tire/wheels.
Even somebody that has "the same setup" might not actually be truly the same.

It seems like most of the time "professionals" don't know what they are talking about, its the hobbiest or amateurs that can give the best advice. Go talk to the local tech at a dealer and walk away laughing. Sorry if that offends anyone.

I think my mom's brother twice removed said his sister's husband's cousin ran that same setup and it worked out well for him but don't quote me on that. Maybe you shouldn't have put "professional's only" in your title. There's plenty of guys who would have been able to tell you whether they work or not on here. Heck I could have told you, but since I'm not a "professional" I guess my .02 won't matter anyways.
