Default 2004 Dodge Ram 1500

Hi,
I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD with a 4.7 Magnum and was wondering if you could install a front crank seal with out removing the timing cover.

They make a Miller installer tool for that but IDK if it has to be pulled. The 5.7 does so I would assume the same would be true with the 4.7 but Im not certain.

The front crank seal can be pulled and replaced w/o removing the timing cover on the 4.7 and 3.7. After you remove the pulley, you just carefully pry the old seal out w/ a screwdriver or use a seal puller. Then you can use a large socket to tap the new one in, heating up the pulley in an oven and greasing it where the seal fits around it will make it easier to get on after the new seal is in.
