Default 08 2500 stuck in 4wd?

My 2008 2500 is stuck in 4wheel drive. I have tryed putting back into 4 then 2 and nothing. I tryed backing up to unlock it and nope. It dosnt feel like its all the way in 4wd im not sure but when i turn either way there is a clicking noise in the front end, reminds me of the sound of bac cv's on front wheel drive car. The steering wheel also does that jerking motion when i turn. Any ideas or help? Thanks in advance.

Elect shift or manual shift?

I'm thinging you going to have to find the shift linkage on the transfer case its self and dsengage your self, if you have elect shift engage the small push button N on the shift dial, also if you have a automatic, put trans in N foot on the brake and try getting out of 4x4 that way.

OR if you have a 6sp manual trans, put clutch to the floor when disengaging 4wd, my 06 2500 gets hic cups when I don't use 4wd for a long time and than use it.

solid front axle 4x4 do not like turning in 4x4, all four drive wheals arre turning =, nothing wrong, just how thier built, on slippry or muddy roads you will not notice this.
