Default Big problem with superchip!!!

My wife took my truck about 2 hours ago and I told her to put 91 octane or better in for gas knowing I have my superchip programed at 91 performance but she just called me and informed me that she put 87 octane in it!! She has driving about 15 miles with it in their already and has another 10 miles to go before she makes it home!! What kind of problems can I expect when she returns the truck??

my buddy did it and said his truck just idled weird and shut off once while sitting in traffic. I dont think its a BIG PROBLEM or anything to get a gray hair over, just change the setting when she gets home

Just drive it cautiously. No heavy foot and no WOT runs. It should be fine to get home.

the only thing that will happen is it will have a pretty good knock retard when it gets home. just get some octane booster in it tomorrow and youll be fine.

you can always set yout tune to the economy setting for this tank. Additives alone wont bring the octane rating up enough.

depends on how much you put in. ive seen guys try and prank a kid in high school by dumping 20 bottles of octane booster in his mustang and he barely got down the road before it blew the engine. they felt pretty bad about that.

the mechanic said the fuel was about 135 octane after all the stuff was added in. way too much for a stock block to handle.

Thanks for all the replies!!! It has kind of calmed my blood pressure down! So beecherr345 suggested to just put some octane booster in it and it should be fine but dirty dog suggested to just reprogram to the lower setting... will I still be able to pull my trailer tomorrow in the lower performance setting or should i just return it to stock until I ride the gas out?

87 tune > Stock, I'd just throw it into the 87 tune and add a bit of octane booster if you want (not necessary). Should be fine towing too, not sure others will chime in. You can release now

i would put it on 87 octane but im sure octane booster wouldn't hurt just add accordingly to how many liters of fuel she added. you'll be able to tell if it works cause if you don't got enough it will deffinatly run worse if you don't have enough booster
