That doesn't look too bad to me at all Lowrider82.
I thought it was going to be like black......like something out of a diesel or something.
BTW. How many miles on that oil?
Al.

i dont think you are supposed to leave seafoam in your engine. i was told you run it and change you oil after x amount of miles

I've used Mobile 1 since the fisrt change and 201,000+ miles, she still runs great. The most milage I put on an engine with Mobile 1 was 315,000+ in a 92 Dakota with a 318 Magnum. She was still running strong when I traded her.

So I ended up spinning two rod bearings and destroyed a crank

All I have to say about that is then your engine was a perfectly good running engine to ear and internally a nightmare which you couldn't see. Can't blame the Mystery oil for the lack of routine maintenance done on that engine.
If you've got so much crud inside your engine, oil flow and lubrication has been suffering for some time anyways. This is why preventative maintenance is so important.

You can run it as long as you'd like, but I'd suggest keeeping it to a minimum. No longer than 3kmi

Although guys have used Seafoam in the crankcase and it says you can on the bottle, they give no implied warranties on that stuff and I would HIGHLY reccomend NOT pouring that stuff in your oil. Doing the PCV cleansing is one thing, but pouring a petroleum distillate that has no lubrication proerties down your engine for your bearings to operate on is a nightmare in my books. Your only asking for trouble with that stuff inside your crankcase.
Seafoam is no different than pouring straight up kerosene inside your crankcase which was a trick done years ago to clean out debris. Backyard mechancis would pour 1cup of kerosene in the oil and run the engine for 5minutes and then drain. That can wreak havoc on journals/bearings IMO.

Lucas is fantastic, but the only 2 additives of theirs I have used is the oil stabilizer which is a thicker oil with lubrication properties similar to slick 50 and their Fuel injection cleaner. I have not payed attention as if they have an additive that cleans the engine cavities out like Marvel does. i like to stick to products that i know work best. The tred and trusted methos. I'm not much for trying new things out when I already know what's the best IMO.

Lowrider, that oil isn't that bad at all. Also, if your parked more than you drive, you will have dirtier oil per each mile racked. So, if you drive 3,000 per year, your oil will be dirtier than if you drove 3kmi in a month granted that is comparing exact road conditions. You should have no problems with using Mystery oil, but use it at your own discretion. I offer no warranties I've used that stuff on over 20 cars. Never once had any problems. Just can't go dumping gallons in the first time if it's super dirty. Some engines need baby steps and if the oil is so friggin dirty, then an oil filter change can be done just prior to the cleansing so that way the filter has lots of capacity not to get clogged.
I personally ruin an entire oil change when i do a flush. I'll run conventional for 500 miles witha qholoe quart of Mystery oil and then pour it all out. it's really the best way, but with Synthetic...That's expensive.

I've used Mobil 1 for 9 years. And I've run them for many miles 10K to 15K intervals.
Vehicles still run great. I'm sticking to 8K now on my Ram Hemi. I want to baby my truck.

I used to use it, but really it would be best to run a engine flush through on your next oil change. Obviously more contaminants you have the faster the oil breaks down. Just a suggestion. I learned about this when I did my AMS oil change. Not saying it should only be done with AMSoil but really anytime you do a synthetic oil change for the first time.

Agreed x2 on dirty and previous poster, That said my 2 cts. I actually read up on oil viscosities and thermal breakdown. Mobil one was the only synthetic on the market too stand up too the amsoil challenge. It's one of the reason's I use it. A engine flush before you use synthetics is a good idea. In weed 's spot, it was obviously neglected by a previous owner. That said at the 3rd gen level your not gonna find too much in deposites in the motor. So a engine flush with mmo and yes kero or diesel actually works and well in fact. for peace of mind I will be adding mmo 2 days before my oil change then another 2 days of reg, driving then shooting off to ohio for sandusky. Oughta be fun. good luck lowrider btw.
ps. I'm only adding mmo once btw. It kinda reads like i'm adding it twice, uh No.

I have always used M1 in all of my Rams and never had any oil related issues.

Thanks. Like I said this is my first truck and first time to use full sythetic oil. I drive more highway than town/city driving living somewhat out in the country side. My old car before I bought the truck I ran either regular or sythetic blend and it was never this dark. So I was kinda freaking out.
