You have the right idea but wrong setup. You want it to come on whenever needed as determined by a controller. Look online for a Hayden 3647

Summit, Jegs, Amazon, ebay or even local auto parts stores

Would a aftermarket Taurus fan work? I prefer new, but not really down with dropn three plus bills on a flex a lite.

There is a thread in the FAQs on a Taurus install. Not hard. I use one and a Hayden 3647 fan controller.

Just read my statement I think I was unclear. My question is would going to oriellys and buying a new whatever year Taurus fan work as good as used oem Taurus fan and be any cheaper than a flex a lite. I don't want to risk buying used knowing it might fail. I dunno just something I've been thinking about.

You can buy a new Taurus fan if you want. IDK the cost of one but I bought my used one from a local salvage yard for about 25 bux.

IDK what your Flex-a-lite fan costs either. But you can answer those Qs yourself just my looking at the numbers

good luck
