My 70 seriers flowmaster is great, Quiet and cruising speeds, sounds good when you want it too. When towing you can hear it, but not enough that you want to kill yourself after a 3 hour drive.

Those guys with the magnaflow have the right IDEA. The magnaflow muffler was made for the Ram. All the attitude when you want it, and it wont drown you out on the hiway, It' the perfect melody in my truck.

I wish I could hear a Magnaflow in person and compare with the AT3030. I have the AT3030 in the stock muffler location with the stock resonator and tail pipe. Quiet at idle, but it is deeper that the stock muffler. You can hear it under mild acceleration and cruising. Get on the gas and you get a nice deep rumble. WOT and you get a little bit of raspyness which I like. I just towed about 400+ miles and you can hear it pretty good under load, but the teenagers in the back seat were having normal conversation and never mentioned that the exhaust was annoying. I've only had the muffler on for a little while, so I'm still having fun. I open up all the windows + the rear slider, and tap the gas while going past a wall or large truck. My son says it sounds like a big dog barking "ROUFF". I have not heard any drone out of this setup.

I have a feeling that Magnaflow has the same qualities, but is better. I think I just went the cheaper route, and I'm happy with the AT3030.

the AT3030 is a very good quality muffler, and dare I say, possibly even better than magnaflow. It's much louder than your average maggie so if you are happy with your current setup then I'd say you went the best route . Plus you probably paid more for your at3030 than most people here pay for their magnaflows lol.

Forgot about matching backpressures with the stock muffler. i chose my flowmaster 50 series for there restiction capabilities, They are just a little less restrictive than stock, which in turn gave me the right back pressure I was looking for. the sound is just as previously posted, Maybe not as pronounced as the mags, but throaty enough for me.

I picked up my AT3030 for $119 shipped and installed it myself. I guess I must have been looking at the wrong size of MF because it was the lower price of the AT3030 that sold me on it.

Wrong. Flowmasters are more restrictive than stock. Plus, they last half as long cause they rust out so bad. Those are both facts. Now for the opinion: Flowmaster is perhaps the biggest ripoff of a muffler out there. At least with some of the no-name brands you know you're paying for garbage. Flowmaster tries to get you to think they're all that and a bag of chips.

CB Extreme im tell ya, its not ridiculously loud but loud enough, and has a low deep sound to it, to me magnaflows aren't loud enough,( and yes i have heard alot of them) but then again everyone has their own opinion.

Not sure which muffler you were looking at. When I was thinking about the maggies, I had thought about getting this one which is $82 shipped. But yea I'm sure there's some that are a lot more expensive and it depends on where you buy from as well.
