I have a 2004 with the 4.7. I want to change the muffler. I don't want anything too loud, just a deep nice v8 sound when i stomp on it. Also something that won't be tiresome on the highway. I looked at alot of clips on utube but can't seem to decide. I am just going to put a single in and out. On my zr2 i had a fm40 delta and it was ok until i broke a tail pipe, after i dumped the exhaust and it was way too loud for me. Just want a nice sound and something that won't get tiresome. Any advice would be appeciated. THANKS.

I have a Magnaflow. Click on my link in my sig, but I also havea Hemi. The 4.7's are a little more aggressive sounding than the Hemi's for some reason.

An 18" Magnaflow oval is what I have.

 

Yeah i went through those posts already but still couldn't decide. I was thinking on trying a magnaflow this time, not sure though.

 

i have the 3 inch junkmaster on my 05 4.7 dakota and hate it. just terrible, previously had an imco which was very nice, www.grabthepower.com and they have sound clips, would love to get another cherry bomb which i had on my fullsize.

 

Wanted the same thing. Put a Gibson on mine and am very happy with it. Just enough growl to know you have a V-8 and sounds nice when you hit the gas, but when the torque converter kicks in at cruising speed, not much noise at all inside the cab beyond stock.

 

Installing cherrybomb extreme on my 4.7, sounds amazing i saw a clip of a member on here with a 4.7 with the CB EX SI DO, it had a low deep. slick this site and listen urself, page 3, first post

well i was in the same boat as you and from what the guy at a local aftermarket shop told me the magnaflow is what i want, he said its smooth and deep and loud when you want it and on the highway its not so annoying than the flowmasters and less drone. i just picked up mine and hopefully gonna put it on tomorrow if i dont get distracted. im pretty excited haha

 

So did you get the magnaflow put on? Anyone that is using gibson, what part number do you use? I don't want the full exhaust, just the muffler.

 

another vote for magnaflow. the perfect balance. quiet at idle, beast at heavy throttle. no raspy ricer sound, just a nice low aggressive v8 rumble.

 

No I don't have it on yet, was supposed to today cuz I gave of to my buddy in the school shop but never got a chance to, bit I'll tell you you'll like the magnaflow but then again everyone has different taste, just go on YouTube and stuff and search for magnaflow mufflers, flowmaster etc and it'll give you an understanding of it
