Default Tires

So I had an exciting blow out in my right rear this morning. I have the 20" wheels with the original factory tires at 50,000 miles. Not really sure why the tire went.

What are a decent replacement tire that you guys are throwing on these trucks? I am looking to get a lower performance tire than the stock ones. Something with a slightly more aggresive tread, better for snow. The cheaper the better... I am closing on my first house tomorrow and money is tight.

I second that notion You could also try town fair tire or a discount house first, sometimes they have a close out. it's worth a shot, btw what happened after the flat? did you get towed or change out the tire with the smaller spare??

Are they pretty decent for the hwy... most of my driving is hwy. We had a bad winter here and the stock tires sucked, and they are pretty ****ty in the rain too.

At first I thought I blew a shock/shock mount. Realized it was a flat, got off the hwy and changed the tire. This truck came with a full 20" spare with a stock tire.

Also guys, I am debating whether or not to get all 4 LTZ or just get the two rears for now. The stock tires have 51,000 miles on them and the tread is probably 4/32-5/32"... the wear bars are ~2/32". Not sure if I should just get the two rears and then replace the fronts at the end of summer, or just do all 4 right now. Suggestions?

tires are great on highway. great mileage, and not loud at all. you'll notice a huge improvement in the snow as well.

Get all 4 now. The old ones are bad enough you'll need them soon anyway, and a lot of times you get a discount for the set of 4. Not to mention you want them to wear evenly, which they wont with different tires on front and rear.

Personally, I could never stand running two different tread pattern tires at the same time. So if I could afford it at all, I'd replace all four.
For the money, especially with a 20" wheel, the LTZs are probably your best bet. Good highway tire that's not too loud with enough bite for bad weather...

Just throwin it out there, the Nitto Terra Grapplers are very similar to the LTZs and very popular as well. You'd be very happy with either
