What I understand SRT's are a 4:10 gear and it would certainly be strong enough. Cost wise I am sure they are expensive. But what you need to do is also not cheap. Rough figures would be $800 for the gears, differential and master install kit from Moe's. I had mine installed including fluids and seals for $500. Plus buying another rear housing, say another $400 - $600. So say it'll cost around $1800 for an upgraded RAM 1500 rearend. If a SRT rear axle could be bought for $2000 I would go for it. My $.02....

SRT reg cabs are 4.10, they also mount the spring under the axle (pre-lowered). This is why I specified one from an SRT quad cab, they are top mount springs (like regular trucks) and have 4.56 gears. You see them on ebay from time to time for 900-2000, but they are used.

I see that as a cost effective upgrade, especially if you could find one local and could inspect and simply pick it up and take it home.

i just put in a dtt and 4.10 gears. I have 1500 qc 2 wheel drive. I like this mod the only thing i would change is using motive gears. Mine make a slight winding soud at 45 to 55 frequent problem with motive gears. I bought my stuff at moes but i left him a question on his answering machine and didnt get a call back. 800 is alot of money to not get no service after sale. I love the mod just do a search on motive gears you will see what i'm talking about. alot of people say its in wrong some people say its motive gears, I have about 1100 in rear end

Jerry, When I bought mine from Moe's I upgraded to OEM gears and had them installed at a defunct Dodge dealer. Those guys cost more but they are good. I went back to them to also have my TC installed. My new gears are quieter than the original 3:55's which had a slight wine around 55 mph. A gear really wakens the old girl up. Bob isn't very good about call backs, even when you are trying to get a hold of him to buy something. Just keep calling and send emails is all I can say. Good luck..
