Got me thinkn.........
Just read a post about a cherry bomb being put on as a dual in dual out. Why diddnt i think of that. What better way to get rid of that p.o.s y pipe then just get the phuk rid of it. Any one here done that instead of a new y pipe. Im in the process of getting a new extreme to swap w my gibson super truck that rusted out. Hmmmm. Dual in dual out cb extreme comin out under the passenger door. Can you say scream!!!
I would incorporate some sort of mid-pipe in there, x or h. I believe you may 'have' to for backpressure reasons, but that may be me talking outta my a$$. IMO though, I would put a midpipe in the scheme of things, mainly because it'd sound pretty badass!
yeah you cant just run individual pipes back to the muffler. you need an x or h pipe anytime you're doing true duals. In the case of these trucks, it has to be an H pipe to work correctly. The x pipe has an advantage if the lengths between headers and x-pipe are exactly the same on both sides. This isnt possible because of the design of the underside, so an H-pipe is your only option if you're going true dual
edit: on that note, if you're going true dual, just go go with 2 seperate mufflers. It'll sound a lot better and have better flow. Twin SISO is the way to go
