I personally wouldn't go more than 6000 but seems like lots of guys are running 6200. Personally I run just 5800. Trucks really do not need to rev all that high IMO.

^ Agreed. I'm not sure exactly, but our motors (all/most motors really) only make power up to a certain rpm. For instance, my old mustang quit making power at roughly 56-5700 rpms. I was loosing time at the track by taking it to the redline. Same deal with our trucks.

Like he said up there, I wouldn't take it past the 58-5900 mark. And FWIW, your tranny won't bite the dust as quick as the motor will, from over-revving anyways.

My SC is set for 6100 in first. I nearly fainted the first time I saw that. I agree, my truck is not making power that high. I noticed it runs out of breath after 4 grand.

Are you sure man? These Hemi trucks have nothing down low. They only pick up steam above 3500 and pull hard to 5500.

No kidding, might be something up with yours then. When I like to play around with other trucks/cars in the 'Rango, I like to go from at least 25mph rolls, preferrably 40mph rolls. Dig runs are pointless for me, unless they spin like crazy. Just no ***** in the low range rpms.

Edit: HemiGuy, he's a 4-7'er. He got mixed up in the Hemi talk, haha. My 4-7 never picks up enough to fall on its face, in any rpm range, lol

hahahah, but yea guess this must be a good question. Any one do any dyno runs to see where we stop making power? Don't want to go up to 6,200 if i stopped making power at 5,500

awesome info I found for ya. Pretty damn detailed here. As suspected, started losing power at the 5850 mark.

heres the link to the actual website, several different vehicles/mod combos to sort through.
