As long as you stay with the same weight and semi-syn. or full syn. then it shouldn't be a problem I would feel comfortable doing 6k on a semi-syn.
As far as switching to Mobil, that is fine but don't get tricked into thinking that Mobil smashes the rest because it simply doesn't. Most modern syn. oils all work great so might want to consider another brand. Pennzoil Platinum is another popular syn. that is cheaper than Mobil and more often can be purchased on store deals and it performs the same. Valvoline Synthpower or whatever the hell its called is another one, it performs well for about the same price BUT the Valvoline has a relatively empty add pack which would make me stay away from it only because of it having an equal price to M1 and PP but without the additives that those compared.
At the end of the day you can't go wrong with most modern synthetics just make sure to stay on top of your oil changes and you'll be fine.

A synthetic blend is part synthetic/and dino juice, nothing more. Adding the same viscosity wether reg,oil or full synthetic will not harm your motor.
I do have too disagree somewhat on the previous poster.Mobil one went up against all the major oil mfg's brands and beat them with thermal breakdown, foaming, and coating ability. The group that did this btw was in fact amsoil. Now why would a company tout another mfg's oil other than there own? Simple,b/c in this instance it was true. The amsoil challenge used all the major brands, and the only synthetic oil that stayed with amsoil or outperformed it in certain criteria was in fact mobil one.

6 tests total, 4 of them M1 was beat by another brand.
How many times in the top 5 (not counting AMS):
Mobil 1- 6
Motorcraft- 4
Kendall- 3
Trop Artic- 3
Valvoline- 6
Pennzoil- 4
Castrol- 2
Quaker State- 2
I want to reiterate that M1 is a good oil, however, when you look at the price disparity of M1 and other brands compared to performance of M1 and other brands not much more performance is being purchased for the additional money.
