Default exhaust help

I would like to make my bad a$$ Hemi sound like she should.....but don't have much money to play with right now. I was thinking ditching the resonator and throwing on a new muffler. Any thoughts? I like a deep throaty sound but also don't need to be the loudest guy in town....just want to make her sound like she should. Other than my home brew CIA she is completely stock. I am mostly trying to figure out what muffler to get...I think I am happy with leaving it the same configuration as it is now, meaning one tailpipe, unless someone has a good reason not to! any advise welcome!

A cutout is the best and cheapest way to go IMO

A full exh system with LTs, new mufflers and tips and whatever else will run you way on up there.

I would normally suggest a cherry bomb but since you don't want to be the loudest guy on the block that probably wouldn't suit you. You may want to look into a magnaflow. If you're wanting to do it on the cheap, just have 'em put the muffler on, then have them dump it around the rear axle. With that configuration, you won' see any tail pipe and if later when you had more money they could extend the pipe and add an exhaust tip. Just a thought.

If you are looking for a muffler that sounds good on these trucks, try a magnaflow. If you want to be loud and have control over when it is loud, try an e-cutout like weed said. They are a nice mod that is easy to install and fairly inexpensive.

I've got a Flowmaster 50 series on my truck. I know a lot of people don't like FM because they rust and don't last too long, but I've had it on my truck for over 5 years now and no noticeable difference. Granted, my father-in-law had his Flowmaster on his Durango rust out in about two years. I'm happy with mine, though. It is loud, but not too loud. It is very rumbly and not too obnoxious, like the 40 series, IMHO. It's a very unique sound, and not in a bad way, so I've been told. Ran me $220 installed at the time.

22in. 5x11 oval magnaflow with resonator deleted. All I have is a CAI and it sounds great with this muffler IMO.

I personally like the Aero Turbine AT3030. I think I saw it on ebay for $137 shipped. They also have the AT3030XL which I think has a built in resonater so its a little more quiet than a AT3030. I'm not sure what the cost of the XL is but I think its around $170. They both have a nice rumble to them.

You can find some sound clips on youtube under things like "ram at3030" or "ram at3030xl".

not to hi-jack your thread but will taking out the resonator after the muffler cause any performance issues with the MDS?
