Another E Fan question...
I didnt want to ask another e fan question but i couldnt really find anything that answered my question. So I went to the junk yard and they didnt have any 3.8L taurus fans so I just grabbed one that was 20" by 20" do you think I could get this to work??
Well the 3.8L taurus electric fan doesn't only come on the ford taurus... It's on the ford taurus, mercury sable, and the Lincoln MKVII. All have the 3.8L, with the electric fan. Don't remember the years, but the pick-a-parts guy should have them. Yeah show post the pics and we'll compare them.
***Just looked. My Taurus fan is 22 wide X 17 high, and 5 inches deep at the deepest part. So odds are the fan you have will work. Still, what I would do, is take out our fan shrowd(prolly have to remove the fan/clutch and coolant/wiper bottles), mock your new fan into place on the radiator, and hold the OEM fan shrowd up to it and see if it fits back in the stock location with the new fan.

Oh, and the cool thing about the taurus fan, is there's 2 speeds. A 2500 CFM Mode(provides adequate cooling/really quiet), and a 4500CFM Mode(More cooling than you'll ever need/hey it sounds like there's a helicopter under your hood!). And only 3 wires... High/Low/Ground.
Yeah definately dont put it in the radiator hose... unless you wanna spray coolant all over your engine when the water pump operates. Just jam the sensor probe in between the fins. Just be careful not to break it, or the wires going to it.
