Default Supercharger or no supercharger

Well i really want to supercharge my 08 1500. I have found one made by procharger. and it says i want to do an air-to-air intercooler. what intercooler should i run? and what else should i do to it. I will be only running i think it said, 6psi. but if i intercool it i can run high off of pump gas. I dont know what to do. if anyone has supercharged their trucks i would like to see it. Thank you very much.

I was goin the way of an sts turbo, but now Im pretty set on the same procharger your looking at. There's 2 different kits. Both come with an intercooler. The tuner kit comes with the the supercharger, air filter, tubes, intercooler... basically everything needed, except the monochip(which I dont particularly like), and the 9th/10th injectors(dont like these either). This is the one Im planning on buying. It's about $47-$4800, and I plan on getting 45 lb injectors(so I dont need the 9th/10th injector setup from procharger) and my dyno shop with the dsp to tune.

The regular kit retails for around $5400-$5800, and has everything you need, like the unichip and the 9th/10th injectors.

You can upgrade to a 3 core intercooler for an extra $100-200 bucks, I think Ill do it.

That's the plan anyways. Should put me around 400hp-420hp to the wheels.

Reason Im going procharger, is the sts turbo is more complicated to tune, alot more to install, and if anything ever goes wrong... You can't exactly "just take it off." With the procharger, if it ever has any problems. 5-6 hours and it's off, and I can put my aftmkt volant back on and Im good to go.

If you have the money/shop/time and the patients, I'd go with the sts, you'll still get great gas mileage as long as your not in the boost, and its just really really bada**!

But for me, Im sticking with the supercharger.

*** Oh and either way, supercharger or turbo, your going to be running 93 octane for the rest of your trucks existence. =P It's better for it anyway.

Here's a link to check out. In 2008 truckin magazine installed a procharger on their 2003 dodge ram hemi. They have step by step instructions. http://www.truckinweb.com/tech/engin...kit/index.html

Well the nice thing about the pro charger setup is that it has a self contained oiling system. This means that you are not required to tap into your oil pump to cool it.
Now, you can safely throw 5-6PSI at these trucks almost issue free, if not some detonation at the top end.

As for the idea of a turbo or charger? That lies in the application. Do you want to maximize your top end power, or do you want to have maximum power and torque at your low end? The supercharger will net you better performance just above idle and will become parasitic in the top end. The turbo on the other hand will depend on your motor to get things going and will have better gains in the top end with out becoming parasitic like the charger will.

You are really stuck with tuning here more than anything. With a 2008, you are pretty well limited on what you can and cannot do with the transmission and that will be key. The engine just needs some minor tweaking in that 5-6PSI band.

As for injectors, you might want to look into the 47# SRT-4 Neon injectors. Crazy as it may be, many shops that are boosting the Hemi have found that the Neon's injectors will interface with the Hemi block. Majorly popular amongst the 6.1 crew who plan on keeping the 375 instead of swapping in a 426...
