powerwagon with locked up brakes (methinks)
When I was 7 My dad almost had his company car stolen (he leaves the keys on the seat with the door unlocked: those were the days..) when the thief backed the car into the neighbors flower bed but couldn't pull forward. The e-brake was on. HE could back up, but not pull forward even under full throttle. I'm sure there was some resistance backing up but I never tried it.
Check the e-brake along with all the other ideas mentioned.
Stupid thief even left the car running with the door open and door chime beeping, probably for 3-4 hours before my dad found it....

A lot of "leg work" needs to be done, to get to the bottom of this.
Jack up each wheel singularly and spin up the wheel, by hand.
If there's no unusual resistance, then your brakes are not binding etc.
Move inboard and check drive shafts and such. Check fluid levels in the front/rear diff's and the Tcase etc.
Take things one step at a time and you will come across wnat's wrong.
Post up what you find.

Hey thanks for all the help everybody. Well I had some extra time so I gave the truck a good looking over and found that the bottom bolt of the right front brake caliper bracket was completely missing. Went and bought a new bolt and runs like a champ. I figured it was the brakes all along, but I wasn't expecting it to be something as frightening as this. Gotta find out where the previous owner had his work done. So anyway, I found no other damage, tightened all the other bolts and down the road I went. Let this be a reminder not to forget about the obvious, I could have saved myself a lot of time if I had checked the fronts while I was checking the rears. Thanks for all the input fellas, glad we figured this one out, I knew we would.
