Default My Truck Has It's Own Mind

My truck has 53,000 miles on it and this weekend I pulled up at a gas station to go grab a bottle of water. When I put it in gear to get out, I heard a "ding". Looked at my dash and ALL of the idiot lights were on but the truck was still running. I also notice that the A/C light went off and I no longer had cold air. I turned the truck off and re-started it and everything works fine now. What is going on? Is this a warning sign of a failure to come?

Ya know, that never crossed my mind but you could be right. It does still have the original from 02 on it.

Our trucks are unusual in that they do not draw power from the alt when running, they always draw from the battery. So, even if your alt is fine, a bad battery can still cause gremlins.
