I can tell you exactly what others have done. For those who had stock rims in the northern areas and got pits, the replaced thier rims. There is nothing you can do about it if the metal is eaten away from chemicals, corrosion or salt. Replacing them and maintaining news ones are all that you can do other than keeping what you have.
